E(9Km)
- From Sansepolcro it is advisable to climb upwards to
Monte Vicchi following Viale Michelangelo, along the
outside of the commercial center uphill until it reaches
the Casa Buitoni, a beautiful villa which many would recognize
as the standard emblem of the makers of Buitoni pasta.
This road is perfectly tarred but very steep, in fact in
the following 5 kms it rises to 950 m starting from 330
m.l.s. . Follow this road which in certain tracts reaches
a steep incline of 18% and arrives naturally onto a
beautiful country road through woods and natural landscape.
Once at the top of the climb (not far from the start of
the unturned path ) the road goes downhill gently until
the "Passo della Calla".
-
G(9Km)
- here must be careful to follow the exact directions.
After approx 2.5 km of country road are will find a road
that is easily visible on the left that climbs uphill.
Follow it for approx 50 mt. where one will meet a gate and
the road continues straight on, downhill towards a chain
that bars the road from cars. Here onwards the terrain worsens
but is very pleasant, down for hundreds of meters through woods and meadows. The surrounding landscape is
beautiful and wild and quite often it is possible to see
roebuck, deer, wild boar and falcons. After another climb
of 200 mts. on the left of the road side there is a farm
house (Pra' del Volpe) and continuing on the left we
arrive at the lovely little church of Aiola, at the side
of which there is a space equipped with tables for picnics
for public use. Continuing straight from the front of
the church the road goes steeply downwards
through the woods and arriving once again on the tarred
road until the locality of Aboca with the restaurant
"Osteria di Aboca"
.
-
B
(1Km)
- the
moment we arrive on the state road, always on the left we
will see the firm called "Aboca Erbe" (Herbal
remedies).
-
-
A
(6Km)
- continuing
along this state road we will arrive at Sansepolcro with
the landscape of Valtiberina spread out below.
This road also may be ridden in the opposite
direction through it is extremely demanding from Aboca to
Calla
.
